'Prayer is telephoning to God and intuition is God telephoning you.'
I liked that opening chapter subheading. I'm still thinking about it.
Intuition! So many of us ignore it, or feel guilty about it.
Often our first response to a situation is intuitive, but how do we put that in words?
So many 'if only' moments. This book is a chance to change that, a fascinating hitherto unpublished work by Shinn who died in 1940.
Imagination and visualization, all form part of the journey.

If you have already read the other books of Florence, like I had, then there is nothing new in this book. In the note by Louise Hay at the start of the book it says that this was a lost manuscript that someone sent to her and they decided to publish it in this colour book format. But it's only a repetition of what is already said by Florence in The Game of Life and Secret Door to Success. Yes, it makes for a great gift or collectors item, because in typical Hay House style it's a very attractive...more

Great book
It was a very easy read. Easy to apply to everyday situations. beautiful picture illustrations throughout. Very calming and made sense.

Slightly 'religious' but otherwise I enjoyed the concepts.
‘Faith brings fruit.’
Just one of the many affirmations I decidedly scribbled on my notepad, in an effort to take action w/regard to some belated, albeit dedicated self-help after reading the (2013) book by Florence Scovel Shinn, The Magic Path of Intuition.
My friend, Patsy had loaned me the book to help me in some way, I guess, since I must have seemed a bit befuddled, at the time. Patsy mentioned it was one of her favorite books & thought there might be something inside to help me, help mys...more

It was the best decision incorporating this book to my morning rituals. I was first captivated by the colorful pages and the text font. The author had a lot of experience and examples that were relatable to each topic.
Colorful, Concise and insightful. In Short it is awesome handy book.
I really enjoyed this book. It was uplifting and I felt much better after having read it. Positive affirmations really helped too.

This is another wonderful book by Florence Scovel Shinn. This book is packed with daily affirmations that can apply to almost any situation one can encounter in their daily walk through life. I have taken many of the affirmations and wrote them down so I can read them and ponder them at anytime during the day. I will always keep this book nearby. I have confirmed by Shinn's books that what happens to someone always starts and ends with what is going on inside their own mind. If one holds somethi...more
A small, colorful, brightly designed book with some great ideas. Written less from intuition-as-a-psychological-matter and more as a companion book for The Secret (which I didn't agree with and didn't like), I had a bit of trouble following it through. But I did.
It is also written with a strong religious slant, which I do not connect to intuition.
Some interesting bits, though. And perhaps worth considering.
Some books are better browsed through at a bookstore. Had I done that, I would not have...more

I took my time devouring this book. It's small; the font is chunky. I could've easily been done in a day. But, it seems I've picked it up and put it down at the times of dire need, and every encounter with it opened me up in new ways. I'll say this is the one book I'll likely carry around with me always, referring back to it in future times of dire need. I just discovered upon finishing it that it has several pages for notes in the back, so I'll likely by another, if not two! Add this to your co...more

Published by Hay House in 2013, this book was actually written prior to 1940. 'Prayer is telephoning to God, and intuition is God telephoning you' is one of my favorite quotes in the book. Send goodwill to your neighbor, family and friends. Shinn talks about our energetic attachments to things, patience, faith, gratitude and acceptance as key elements to a spiritual life. 'A ahromnious person is never vibrating at the same rate as a germ' is another nice quote. A quick, light, fun and enriching...more

You can make it happen
A simple book, a simple message but profound in its application. I so wish that these ideas here would become mandatory reading for our children so as to train their minds at an early age and they would then grow to become healthy and wise in creating their realities and live a far more happier and productive life. However
this would work for all at any point of time in one's life. Like Nike professes 'just do it'

Although not my favorite book by Florence Scovel Shinn, I enjoyed this colorful Hay House imprint of her lost manuscript.

I keep this book close by. Before the word 'affirmations' was made popular by Louis Hay, Florence Scovel Shinn was 'speaking the word'. Simple, easy to follow. An old time witch giving sound advice.

5 stars because of its simplicity. For those with a Jesus tradition it opens the scriptures more deeply and connects you to your own Christ power.

The author gives us advice on how to pray. She spends very little time talking about intuition.

“A harmonious person is never vibrating at the same rate as a germ.” — 7 likes
“A person who is low-spirited or inharmonious will contract a cold; a happy, fearless person will be immune to germs. For example, a woman goes out in cold weather in evening clothes - lightly clad - but is quite comfortable, for she feels she is looking well and is filled with anticipation for a happy evening. If the same woman is dressed in an unbecoming gown or in a bad humor, she will come back complaining of a cold and discomfort and have a cough the next day. A harmonious person is never vibrating at the same rate as a germ.” — 1 likes
