JAZ sebagai wadah untuk menghimpun dan mengkomunikasikan hasil-hasil penelitian dan konsep-konsep ilmiah serta pengetahuan dalam bidang arsitektur, antara lain: sejarah, teori dan kritik arsitektur, budaya bermukim, teknologi bangunan dan ilmu material, perancangan arsitektur, perancangan interior, perancangan perkotaan, perumahan dan permukiman, arsitektur lansekap, konservasi dan Heritage. Artikel yang ditulis berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ide-ide (gagasan konseptual), tinjauan tentang proses penelitian praktik, proses penelitian berbasis skripsi, tesis maupun disertasi, tinjauan buku-buku baru, proses dan hasil desain dalam praktik arsitektur (arsitek atau tim arsitek atau komunitas masyarakat), gagasan konseptual, review penelitian, dan paparan tokoh arsitek dan pemikirannya, serta karya ilmiah lain yang berhubungan dengan fenomena arsitektur.
JAZ secara teratur diterbitkan tiga kali setahun pada bulan Februari, Juni, dan Oktober. JAZ menyambut kontribusi dari peneliti dan arsitektur dari seluruh dunia. Artikel ditulis dalam Bahasa Indonesia atau Bahasa Inggris.
Panjang tulisan 10-15 halaman spasi tunggal. Semua bahan yang diserahkan ke Jurnal Arsitektur ZONASI secara online dan direview oleh Peer Reviewer.
